Thailand: What Traveling Is About

what-traveling-is-about

Thailand is a land of flavors, smells, nature, spirituality, the unknown, and the exciting. It is home to many tropical beaches and fun city streets full of nightlife which so many men are captivated by. It is also full of history and ornate Buddhist temples, ancient ruins, and traditions that carry over hundreds of years. More importantly, Thailand is about its people. And that to us is what traveling is all about.

Thailand can be called a vacation center as it is on top of the list of vacation countries where many men come each year to enjoy their holidays, spend time with their family in leisure, spend their honeymoon, or simply for recreation and travel. It is a country meant for foodies. Thailand offers a wide range of fruits and dishes that are not found anywhere else. It is a unique country full of fruits and different species of birds and animals.

Heads up: While the summer might seem like a good idea initially, it is not. Generally speaking, from March to June temperatures can reach up to 42F. And trust us, walking and adventuring out it is not as pleasant in that heat. All you will think about is how hot and humid it is. We recommend visiting Nov-Jan.

Bangkok

In case you didn’t know, the capital of Thailand is Bangkok. And boy, is it a fun city. It is vibrant and chaotic. It is the type of city that is in your face. The smells alone will keep you awake. Smells in a good way that is, of course.

Bangkok is a large city with vibrant streets and is home to many ornate temples and shrines. Bangkok is full of life, especially at night, and it has a beautiful river that breaks into a network of canals. This is the Chao Phraya River that flows past the Grand Palace and its sacred temples. The river is full of boats and tourists enjoy the boat ride tour that it has to offer.

Our stay was at a hotel right next to the Chao Phraya and the view was phenomenal. But unless that is your intention, your stay will not matter as you’ll want to spend every second on the streets blending with the locals. As mentioned at the beginning of this article, that is exactly what traveling is about. We have written it in other travel articles and we can’t stress this enough.

We did not have a to-do list in Bangkok, and nor should you, we believe. You’ll want to get lost and find your way around this city. Although not as safe as Tokyo, Japan, as long you are not flashing valuables like the baller you are not you will be good.

Phuket

Next up in the wonders of Thailand is the city of Phuket. It is probably one of the top destinations for most tourists that want to visit this country. We included it because it is stunning but do we recommend it? Hmm well that depends, we are not fans of tourist traps and the typical. Adventure lives in our hearts and we avoid walking paths and the crowd. So if you do decide to go, get lost a little and find the empty spots. Let us explain why Phuket is so sought after and why it is the first place people looking to visit Thailand think of.

Phuket is a rainforested island and has the most famous tropical beaches in Thailand. If you’re looking to sit back and relax next to the ocean, the beaches of Phuket are ideal. The climate is extremely pleasant due to the mountains and rain forests that surround it and of course the ocean breeze as well. This is a vacation dream destination and a must-go for travelers and explorers. What makes it even more lavishly luxuriously and extremely relaxing is the fact that it is home to many seaside resorts, spas, and restaurants.

Let’s not leave behind the great cities of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. Both are separate cities with their own individual uniqueness. The cities are both in the mountainous north of Thailand.

Chang Mai

Chiang Rai is located near the borders of Laos and Myanmar. It is home to the famous Wat Phra Kaew temple and a cultural park that showcases the Lanna artifacts.

Chiang Rai also houses the Baandaam Museum which is dedicated to modern Thai artists. While visiting this city make sure to go to Singha Park which has lavish and beautiful tea fields.

What Traveling Is All About

Thailand never fails to amaze, just be sure to have your adventure mode on for when you must escape your 9-5. There are vast arrays of sights, smells, tastes, experiences, adventures, etc but what you will fall in love with is its people. The people of Thailand are full of warmth and happiness. They have learned the secret of life is to live in the moment surrounded by those you love the most. Creating and sharing moments that will outlast any materialistic object.

One thing we are pretty passionate about is not supporting elephants, tigers, and other wild species “sanctuaries” that are exploited as tourist attractions. These are animals that are held captive and mistreated behind doors to rip their nature away from their instincts for the sake of making them docile for tourists. If you care about this matter, please do not support these places and people. We understand that this is their source of income and how they feed their families but it is by far not a substantial reason for animals to be abused.

We are not your dad, and we will not tell you what to do or not do. But if you are a distinguished gentleman, like us, you will know the difference between right and wrong.
